Very saddened to learn today that the Vetter Mtn Lookout was lost in the fire. One of my fav's. Lot's of fond, personal memories of that tower.

Thanks! Luckily, it looks like the foothills east of Mt. Wilson have been spared so far, including the Chantry Flats area. However, it is closed due to the fires at this time.

I need to catch up on my blogging. I would like to be up-to-date by hike #100, so that will probably mean less and less videos. Maybe I'll make one video with clips from five hikes at a time. Even w/o the video, a blog entry take about two hours to produce. With a video, up to four.

Nice to have another "virtual hike" to enjoy today. It feels like it's been a little while since I'd had one of these to read about--I was missing them. I had to remind myself that these blog entries are probably pretty labor intensive to get written up and posted--and I also had to remind myself of this:

"Kolby promised to TAKE the 100 hikes by Jan 1--not necessarily BLOG about them all by then!" ;-)
