100hikes.com: Utah Bound!

Capitol Reef ... my fave of all the drive-to parks in SoUtah. Don't miss the Cohab Canyon > Frying Pan Trail and out past Cassidy Arch hike ... but start early, and bring water and snacks. Good in either direction, though if it's getting late you'll be happier emerging at the Cohab TH than at the other end, still a half mile inside Grand Wash. It's about 5 or 6 miles one way ... though if you do it one way there will be some road walking between trailheads. Shuttle is best, but totally worth it any way you can.

Thanks, Jonathan. I actually wrote down your note, but forgot about it. As chance would have it, I ended up driving through Capitol Reef this afternoon and just meandered around in my car. It lead me to the Cassidy Arch trailhead. I hiked right past the turn up to Cassidy Arch (I was too amazed by the stunning beauty) but had a nice hike down the Grand Wash this afternoon (hike #50!)

Zion has great hikes. Angels landing is a don't miss. If you hike the narrows I believe you need a permit to do the top down version, which is the best way, although 16 miles is a pretty good push to do in 10 hours. You can also do this in 2 days, which is better if you don't want to push.

Thanks, Bob. I have permit reservations for The Subway and The Narrows (2 days) next week. Hopefully the good weather will hold.

I would also highly recommend the hike at Bryce Canyon Navajo loop trail.

Thanks, Jen - I hiked it first thing this morning. One of the most beautiful hikes I've done in my life. Such amazing beauty...
